Student Insights

5 Ways Your Students Wished You Used Isidore
Last fall, the Office of E-Learning conducted a survey of 91 undergraduate students to develop a better understanding of students' preferences in Isidore. Based on the results of this survey, here are the top 5 ways to improve your students' experience in Isidore:
1. Frequently update Isidore with grades, resources used in class, and key information. 2. Organize materials in the Resources tool logically and efficiently. 3. Add the calendar tool to your Isidore site so that Assignments and Tests & Quizzes will be added to it. 4. Use the Announcements tool for important class information so students are notified both in Isidore and their UD Gmail accounts. 5. Help students keep track of their attendance with the Attendance tool.
If you have questions about how to accomplish any of these tips, don't hesitate to contact E-Learning at elearning@udayton.edu!

Starting a New Semester Checklist
Save Time Using Video Capture Software
When teaching, we often find ourselves repeating the same things from one semester to another. Written materials have traditionally been used for content that gets reused, but what about those questions you always seem to get every semester? What if you could capture your recurring explanations and have them ready, or better yet, present them to your students before they get stuck? Read more.

Attendance Improvements
Main Page of Attendance Tool with Play Button
To simplify the process of adding Attendance items, an "Add Attendance Item" button has been added to the main page of the Attendance tool. Attendance statuses, like Present, Absent and Excused, now also have color indicators to help you quickly identify students who have missed class. Watch the video for a demonstration of both of these new features.
