Building Your Course Site

Follow the steps below to prepare your course site for spring instruction.

Are you ready?

Now that you’ve reviewed the spring 2021 guidelines, taken steps to plan your course in a flexible manner, and familiarized yourself with the Isidore site template you are ready to start building your course site in Isidore.

How can you start?

If you’re extremely comfortable with Isidore, Zoom, and other tools that you will need to deliver your courses in the spring you’re welcome to get started right away. It’s as simple as logging in to Isidore, accessing your site, and beginning to populate your content and activities.

If you feel a little unsure, need a refresher, or are new to Isidore we strongly recommend that you complete the self-paced 'Preparing Your Isidore Course Site for the Spring 2021 Semester' online training package linked below. The training steps through all of the tools and decisions that you’ll need to make as you build out your course sites. We believe that this training package can benefit everyone and will save you time in the long run.

Let's go!

Creating any course takes a lot of time and can feel a bit overwhelming at the beginning but it’s important that you stay positive and focus on making steady progress. Consider breaking up the work ahead (whether it be finalizing your syllabus and schedule, recording mini-lectures, creating engaging assignments, etc.) into smaller chunks that you can tackle in the weeks leading up the first day. The first 10% is always the hardest but we expect that you’ll find your momentum quickly.

Finally, remember, you have amazing colleagues all around you that would be happy to be a sounding board for you or share their own experiences as you consider the best way to prepare your class. Reach out to them. The Office of eLearning is always an email away too.

Go for it!
